Samsung B2100 Solid Extreme, treat me rough

Look, I'm in water!

Look, I'm in water!

It’s been interesting watching the ‘rough n tough’ phones evolve over the years. I still have, and still use my Nokia 5140i, which I have certainly abused over the years. What interests me about this breed of phones is that unlike the ever changing ‘technology’ phones, the ‘tough’ phones are actually built to last. So as long as you’re not interested in the latest gadgetry and just require a reliable phone that will literally last you years then this breed will be right up your street.

The Samsung B2100 Solid Extreme is an ultra tough mobile phone that’s going to take it’s main rival, the Sonim XP3 head on.

Both models are near identical in technology terms and are both IP57 certified – which basically means that they are fully waterproof upto a depth of 1 metre & has a high degree of dust protection.

The Samsung B2100 Xplorer though is a lot easier on the eye though than the “brick like” XP3, in fact, it’s almost good looking, or at least purposeful looking.

The B2100 has a varied working operating temperature and can work between as low as -20 and as high as +60 making it the perfect companion for virtually any climate. The exterior is rubberised to maximise grip & if you should happen to drop it, the anti-shock materials from the urethane body will soak it up upto around a 2 metre fall – reassuring to know but not wise to try ! Theres also a dedicated flashlight key (something that has got me out of trouble in my local mountain environment)  should you get caught in the dark and noise cancellation with dedicated microphone for busy and noisy environments.

The Samsung B2100 has quite a few handy features too, with bluetooth, FM radio, 1.3 megapixel camera and multimedia player with expandable memory also.

So, if you work outdoors, play outdoors or just want a ‘tough’ phone because you are tough and so is your bulldog, then have a look, I doubt you will be disappointed.
